Well built car - but not the Accord of the past

I bought my '07 Accord as my first new car after 6 used Hondas in my family. Negatives first: By 18000 miles, the car has been to the dealer twice for an oil leak. Just got it back today, I hope it's fixed. The brake rotors are starting to warp, and all I do is highway driving. The car is a manual, so I can't imagine how bad it would be on an auto car. I bring this up because it could be a big issue for non DIY'ers. There is no Ipod/Aux jack. The seats collect fuz. The handling could be better, easily fixed by enthusiasts like me though. Pros: Great gas mileage 31-34mpg every tank! Nice interior layout, tons of storage space. Very comfortable for passengers. Very quiet and comfortable highway ride. Very little windnoise. Decent power from the 2.4L 4 cyl. with manual transmission. All in all, I would recommend this car because I can't think of a better car in it's class.

Love new Accord - 5 months old

Only gave 4 stars for reliability because it is really too early to tell. From what I see it will probably be a 5. Not as smooth riding as my wife's Camry, but it is a sportier car so I guess I have to lose a little somewhere. Mileage 29 & 18 (hwy & city), which is a couple miles/gal lower than our Camry, but I really love the car, AND THE DEALERSHIP IS TERRIFIC IN ALL PHASES - QUICK GREAT PRICE NEGOTIATION, SERVICE FOLLOW-UP, ETC!

Honda Pulls Through Again

I own a 2007 Honda Accord EX-L Sedan. I must say that Honda keeps amazing me with the achievement that create every single time they release a new Accord, or any vehicle for that matter. The Accord offers everything that I expect from Honda. I feel very comfortable while driving and the 8-way seating adjustment helps get me more relaxed on longer trips. Even though I have the 4-cylinder, the engine has plenty of power behind it to easily conquer the 18-wheelers on the highway. Handling could simply get no better. As far as exterior styling and interior design goes concerned, it's a Honda, and that's that. Features there is one flaw that I don't really like. When I want to change the channel just once on XM I have to lean up a little to click the TUNE button which is rather far to reach. Even though the steering wheel has a control button for the channel, it changes the whole genre in general. That's the only feature that I really found to be more difficult that it should be. Value and reliability for Honda in general is amazing and is very hard to beat. I would definately recommend this car to any aspiring driver looking for a fun ride.

best car i have ever owned

i traded in my harley davision f150 for my 07 accord. i always wondered how are could be on the ten best list so many years. Now that i own one i know why it has won. the only negative thing is the metal trim kit. i purchased the metal trim and it did not stick. i then purchased some glue that destroyed the interior pieces. it would be great if honda could provides some be method of attaching the $300 dollar kit. i plan on having this car for at least nine years. this is my second honda and it wont be my last

Good Value and Fun to Drive!!!

Purchased - 07 Accord SE (4CL AT) I had read just about evey review out there prior to purchasing this car and so for those of you reading this...I can honestly say that this car certainly delivers...it offers good value for your money...but more importantly I feel very safe in it....highly recommend it!!!! A few things to consider: This past week I averaged about 26.5 mpg (w/ AC ON...Mixed Driving) which in my opinion is not bad...but from what I've read....the engine delivers better mileage with time.... The car makes a small cranking noise when you drive it in reverse...I've noticed this in other Honda models as well...its not a big deal...just thought I'd point it out.. I know I've said this before...but this car really delivers on value...got it for $20.3k including taxes, doc fees, tags (transferred existing ones so paid only $44.5 for it) and a 7 yr / $100k warranty...got a very good APR rate as well..

Best car I've ever owned

This car has been nothing short of perfect for my budget and needs. While the exterior design is not the best out there (although those LED's in the back look very nice), inside the car makes you feel like you paid a lot more for it. I have the V6 manual gearbox, which is very fast at 244hp. It handles very well (those off-ramps are now a joy), and gets up to speed very well. Highway driving is also a lot of fun, with minimal wind noise, and peppy acceleration.

I've owned 3 other cars before buying Honda.

Accord and Civic are worth the money, Accord handle curves very well and rides like its on a rail. Monorail! After owning a 2000 Lx Coupe which I drove 32 thousand miles in 1.5 yrs at German Auto Bahn speeds, I've owned a 2003 Sedan EX, 2005 Sedan Ex and now a 2007 Accord Ex and the only thing I may change it for is a 2008 EX depending on the look. This is a drivers car!

Terrible Gas Mileage

My new Honda Accord SE, V6 Automatic, is just beautiful, and I want very much to love this car. But there's something going on with the transmission that seems to 'drag'. And I get 15-17 mpg, even though I'm a very conservative driver. And I haven't even used the A/C yet!

Fun to drive

I left Honda (Accord) and tried a Ford Five Hundred. After many problems, I came back to Honda. The Accord is so much fun to drive; it hugs the road. The brakes are fabulous, the pick up is very decent. The sound system is excellent. The Honda sits lower than the Ford 500, but the Accord offers better handling (and fun). EX-L (4 cyl) is an excellent buy for the money. This is my THIRD Accord. Recommendation: Drive it. Crank up the music and take it on winding roads. It's hard to believe this is a sedan!

Watered down version of Acura TL Type-S

The 6 speed V6 Accord is very responsive, comfortable, and fun to drive. The Navigation system and Stereo are very nice as well, and easy to operate. I test drove the Acura TL Type-S 6 speed and think the Accord is a better value given that it's $10,000 less, without much compromise in quality or performance. The Accord also gets slightly better gas mileage and only requires Regular Unleaded.

Honda! The other "Ulitmate Driving Machine."

I was not in the market to buy a car. I went in for an oil change on my 01 Civic, and walked out with new keys. I bought it in November 2006. I love this car very much. I traded in my 01 Civic and I love this car. I love Honda. A lot of people are complaining about the brakes, but I love it. They are tight and very touchy. I guess I'm used to it from my other Honda. The leather seats are comfy, I love all the extras like heated seats and mirrors, as well as the auto dimmer mirror. I also love the layout of the dash and the speedometer. It tells you the outside temperature. Maintenance minder is great as well. It lets you know when to change oil, etc. It also has homelink which I like. It controls up to 3 garage doors or gates. Interior night-light takes getting used to. Lots of compartments to store as well as cup holders in each door. Floor AC vents under front seats for passengers to enjoy. The XM is great, but wish for a more trial period over 3 months. The V6 really gets up there. I have fun passing everybody on the road. I've gotten a ticket though when I first bought the car. Wasn't used to that V6 yet. My car doesn't pull to the right as everyone else has proclaimed. At 244HP, my car is faster than my mothers C230 Benz. It also handles, and out performs it IMO. All in all, I love Honda's and am very satisfied with it. One issue I did have was within the 1st week of buying it, I had to bring it in for service because the fuel cap light wouldn't go off.

Reliable, Affordable Luxury

I leased my new 2007, Honda Accord EX-L, 2.4 liter, 4-cylinder with a 5 speed automatic in January 2007 and so far it is everything I expected and more. As a college senior, I decided it was time to get into my first new car. What lured me to the Accord was the fact that it offers so many features at the $25,000 MSRP. A peppy engine, attractive styling and loads of luxury make for an attractive package. I was skeptical at first of moving into a 166hp 4-cylinder from the 200hp V-6 in my previous car. A test drive in the 3228 pound Accord proved that the four would be plenty powerful for real world driving. At this point, with about 1000 miles on the car, I am getting about 26.5 miles per gallon with mixed highway and city driving. The handling is tight and accurate and a stiffer than expected suspension adds to the sporty feel which I enjoy. The four cylinder EX-L comes with 16 inch alloy wheels, body colored door-handles, mirrors and side sills, power moon roof and LED tail lights. The doors open and close smoothly and give a convincing thud proving their rigidity. Inside, the ergonomics and materials are up to par. Everything is at your fingertips from the heated, power seat controls to the audio and climate controls. The seats have high, firm bolsters all around and their height provides a commanding view of the road. My biggest complaint concerns rear visibility. The trunk is invisible from the inside making parking a guessing game, and there is an oversized blind spot thanks to large D-pillars. Otherwise, the interior is attractive and classy. The EX-L comes with a leather trimmed cabin, heated seats, a 6-disc 120-watt six speaker stereo system with satellite radio, dual-zone automatic climate control as well as many other convenience features. Safety wise, the car has front side airbags as well as side curtain airbags, ABS and electronic brake distribution. The option of Vehicle Stability Assist with traction control is reserved for the V-6 models. I am confident the car will hold up both mechanically and physically as Honda has a rock-solid reputation. Consider the newly redesigned Camry and Altima along with the Accord, but I think you will find the Accord offers the most features for the money. The Accord EX-L is a winner for arriving with confidence, style and a luxury at a fair price.

Great car, Great Reliability

This is my second Accord. I had and '04, and traded-in for an '07. I have the EX-L, 4 cylinder, and it has excellent power, and yet the gas mileage is superb. I average 26 mpg in the city and 35 on the highway. The handling is superb, and based on my '04, you can't beat the reliability. XM Radio on the EX-L model is great!

Outstanding!

This is my 4th Honda since my first in '78, and my 1st Accord, and I have to say that they just keep getting better every year. (I still own my '99 Civic) The 2.4 L 4 cyl engine has unexpected power but still gets excellent mileage for the size of the car, and as a PZEV, imparts a minimal impact on the environment. I'm averaging over 30 MPG, so I can not complain. I find absolutely nothing that I dislike about this car. I'd get another in a heartbeat. As soon as my wife's Ford Focus dies, it going to be another Honda for us.

What can you say...It's a Honda!!

It's been many years and I'm back with a Honda. Toyotas are my favorite, the 2007 Camry is nice but lacked refinement, too americanized, so I went with the Accord. Fit and Finish is par....because it's made in the US. If I can, I would choose one made in Japan. Not as quiet or smooth as the Camry, but the trade off is something I'd rather be driving. The 2008s will be out later this year...I should've waited, but at least I can enjoy for now. If you've never owned a Honda, then you've never owned a real enthusiast's car.

upgraded from a Civic sedan to the Accord sedan. lost a few mpg's but for it's size averaging 26 city is nothing to complain about. car feels solid and having six airbags is comforting. lots of creature comforts, definately opted for the EX!

Excellent machine.

Tight suspension, very little roll in cornering, though not an uncomfortable "high performance" ride. Better handling than my old '94 E320 MB. Very good gas mileage. I like the layout of controls, easy readability & good placement. Stereo has excellent sound quality. Acceleration is far better than I expected to have in a 4 cylinder. I've now owned my 04 Accord Coupe for 2.5 years & the only problem has been one headlight being burned out & front brake rotor warping, which was taken care of by the dealership. I'll buy another one these machines... they're a great buy for the money!

previously expressed some disappointment because of harsh ride, but it did improve after the first 500 miles. an occasional bump will feel annoying, but overall the car is smooth, quiet and solidly built. the radio and a/c are great. premium michelin energy tires add to a secure road feel.

MY FIRST ACCORD, A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED

CAN'T COMMENT ON RELIABILTY, BECAUSE I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR TWO WEEKS AGO. MY MISTAKE WAS BUYING BEFORE A TEST DRIVE. I FIND THE RIDE TOO HARSH AND HOPE TO GET USED TO IT. ON A PERFECTLY SMOOTH ROAD IT HANDLES AND FEELS GREAT. QUIET CABIN, GREAT RADIO, AIR CONDITIONING FAIR, ROOMY INTERIOR AND CLEVER LITTLE TOUCHES LIKE EXTRA STORAGE COMPARTMENTS, ADJUSTING SIZE ON THE CUP HOLDERS.
